Committees & Working Groups

Only council members can vote on decisions at committees, however members of the public are welcome to certain commitees as non-voting members. See below  the various committees of Banwell Parish Council, the areas they oversee, and their members. 

Planning Committee (1st Monday of each month)

  • Cllr Manley (Chairman), Cllr Blatchford (Vice Chairman), Cllr Arlidge, Cllr Davies, Cllr Harding & Cllr Thompson

Working groups do not hold decisions making power. Members research and undertake actions and seek approval from Full Council on decision making through reccomendations. Members of the public are welcome to join. Below is a list of the current working groups.

Sustainability Working Group

Wolvershill Development Working Group

This new working group is established to feed into North Somersets Master Plan for the Wolvershill Development which will include design codes, green spaces, retail space, light industrial, schools, etc...  This group includes councillors and any members of the public wishing to become involved.

Wolvershill Development Liaison Group

This new working group is established to facilitate the flow of information from the Wolvershill Develpoment Working Group, the Parish Council and member of the committee to North Somersets Supplimentary Planning Document for the new Wolvershill Development which will include design codes, green spaces, retail space, light industrial, schools, etc...  It involves the Chair, Vice-chair, Chair of Planning and the Clerk who will work directly with North Somerset and developers with land interests at Wolvershill.
